Frequently asked
My father, Datuk Lim Chee Seng, started ML Moto & Lube Sdn Bhd on Jalan Borneo in 1998 - that's 28 years ago this month! We've been servicing vehicles here since before most of the newer auto shops opened. What sets us apart is that we're not just another franchise - we've been here through all the changes, from when people used to bring their cars to be repaired on the roadside to today's modern service standards. My father has a special relationship with many families in Kuching who have brought their vehicles to us for over 20 years now.
We're the ones who know when your car's oil filter was last changed, because we've been changing it for you since 2012. My father actually remembers when your car first came to us with a different engine number - he even had to call the parts department in KL to verify they weren't mixing up vehicles! We're not just about getting you in and out quickly, we're about building relationships that last generations. We've been here for so long that we know which families have been loyal customers for over 20 years, and we make sure their cars get the personal attention they deserve.
Absolutely. We've been helping people with vintage cars since the early 2000s - my father has a special collection of old parts from different decades that he keeps in his workshop. I remember one customer brought his 1978 Datsun 240Z that had been sitting unused for 5 years, and we actually had to reassemble the carburetor because we found a spare part in our old stock from when my father was still working with those models. We have an entire section in our workshop dedicated to classic car parts and we've been restoring vehicles since before it became trendy.
It's because we don't just hire mechanics - we train them the same way my father trained me, starting with the basics on Jalan Borneo. I've been here since 2015, and every mechanic who has worked here for more than 3 years knows exactly how to handle a customer like Mr. Tan from Taman Tun Fuad who brings his family's vehicles for service every six months. My father taught us that if you don't fix it right the first time, customers will find someone else - so we take pride in doing everything correctly, even when we're short-staffed or busy with multiple customers.
